Final Project Analysis

Inspiration:

In my original post, I vaguely described what exactly I was going to tell. UNC basketball has been a big part of my life for a while. I thought it would be a good final project to include my love for the Tar Heels explain why I think the UNC Basketball is so amazing. The storytelling techniques I used were both writing and the use of media (pictures, gifs, audio, video).

Process:

So I’m finally finished with my final project. It took a lot longer than I thought it was originally going to take, especially since I kept thinking of new things to add to it. Once I found all the different media and material I needed to create it, I started making the video montage and the gif’s.

The very first gif at the top of the final project page was made using gimp. This took FOREVER. It involved creating layers for each picture and then editing them to make them look good. I then used the eraser tool to set transparency levels on each frame. One-by-one I was able to put together a total of 64 frames to make that gif. For the second gif I decided it was too time consuming to use gimp, so I decided to use benderconverter.com. That last big thing I had to create with media was the video montage. I used Windows Movie Maker 2.6 to cut and edit the clips along with the music. I thought the video turned out especially well. After all the media projects were done, I started writing up the explanations.
