So when I originally saw this assignment on the website I had no clue what we were supposed to be researching. However after doing some research I came across a website that gave a great descriptive detail about what this whole issue was all about.

Basically the Creative Commons is a nonprofit organization that enables people to share their creativity and knowledge through free legal tools.They offer free, easy-to-use copyright licenses that provide a simple, standardized way to give the public permission to share and use someone’s creative work. However this use is under that person’s conditions. Creative Commons licenses are not an alternative to copyright they instead work alongside copyright and enable one to modify their copyright terms to best suit their needs.
When reading over some more information what I found useful was that CC helps people give others the right to share, use, and even build upon the work that they have created. CC offers flexibility and protects the people who use other people’s work, so they don’t have to worry about copyright infringement, as long as they abide by the conditions you have specified.This organization is also a great tool if you’re looking for content that you can freely and legally use. For example, like songs, videos, academic material, and etc. (I think I might even consider using this myself for academic purposes!)
As of right now I am not going to put any of my work under copyright or under CC. I honestly don’t feel that it is necessary at this point. If someone is able to make a profit with the work that I’m doing for college course then hey more power to them. Unless I happen to become a famous reality TV star or celebrity during this semester the information from my blog will remain free and open.
