The Past: Otis minus Milo

As I looked onto the ds106 inspire site I was immediately drawn to a picture of Milo and Otis. This is one of my all time favorite movies. I love the story of two animals ,whom are normally supposed to be enemies, making friends and going on an adventure together. They get separated in the middle, but true friendship wins out in the end and they are reunited.

However, this post turns the story around and takes Milo out of the picture. It now becomes a story of finding oneself, not of friendship. This version of the classic story is a bit saddening to me. It’s not has happy and upbeat when the two mates are together, but that is sometimes how life works.

The fact that this is a video makes it digital. The fact that it tells about something makes it a story. In my blog post about what a digital story is, I stated that making stories digital allows so many more options. This is a good example of making a story your own. This story being digital allowed the creator to make a different version of this story.
