Twitter has been such an influential tool for social and media purposes. Many of our students are in the know about the ins and outs of Twitter, while we are still in hesitation and confusion about the purpose or just simple pondering about what to write in that square box. In chapter 3, Howard Rheingold discusses the nature and power of participation. Many social websites are engineered by simply participation by the masses.
So the homework for this week my fellow semi-tech savvy classmates is to post on Twitter at least once each day from Monday throughThursday (preferably twice a day, but I don’t want to push it). When tweeting, please address one or more of the purposes listed on pages 130-31. That is, tweet mindfully, with the goal of contributing somehow. We want Twitter to be beneficial for you and that means using it in a way that meets your professional and personal needs.
