My people. I took the theme of my people to be that my people are the people that I share similar interests and actions to. We appreciate similar things even if I don’t personally know these people.
The first picture is of Angell Hall which is by far my favorite building on campus. This building contained “my people” this year. It was where I had my Screen Arts and Culture classes this year and the meeting place for DORAK, a club I belong to. I often sit on the steps and people watch similar to the people you see in the picture
The second picture is my favorite type of weather. I like walking out in rain storms and I consider my people those who enjoy it too. Rainy days aren’t most people’s favorite kind of day, but they are mine.
The following picture was from game day. I really like this picture because it was taken near the very end of the game when points were close and people weren’t sure who was going to win. My people are people who are out late at night. My people are are also people who are concerned with the University of Michigan.
The fourth picture was taken at the musical “Pirates of Penzance.” My people are people who enjoy watching stories be it musicals or television. In this particular show two of my friends are actors.
My people play video games. This was taken at Kgrams event. This particular game was one of my favorites when I was a kid. My people don’t necessarily have to be alive/real people.
The following photo is also about playing video games but in a different way. My people are people who both like things and demonstrate their affection for them. These people play or have played Mario Kart and liked it enough to create a real life version of it.
My seventh photo is of my roommates and one of their friends working in our dorm room. My people don’t always have to be doing something special, sometimes my people just want to sit on their computer or talk like normal people.
The following photo represents how sometimes my people don’t always act like normal people. If you missed it the guy on the far left is a real person posing in the window with the mannequin. My people are the people who like to do odd things with their life.
The 9th photo is another way in which my people like to do odd things with their day. My friend Devin and I decided we wanted to climb the roof of a school so we did. Looking over the edge was something we wanted to do so we did it. Not the average Saturday.
The 10th and final picture is my friend Jo going down a path. I felt this was a good final piece as it seem to have closure to it, it looks like a final scene. In this particular scene my people are people who don’t venture into nature often and get lost on North Campus. We did eventually find where we were going but this was the moment that we actually found the building after wander around for a while. We finally found our way again.
In an attempt to make all the picture go together I set them up as “scenes” rather than portraits. These were also shots from real life so they have a story with them rather than being posed pictures in a studio.
