    Lightning McQueen (StoryShape)

    by
For this assignment I was asked to watch Kurt Vonnegut on the Shapes of Stories! I really enjoyed this video, I actually am going to admit to watching it at least 7 times.. haha It was just that entertaining! Definitely two thumbs up! His video inspired me to do my own story shape about the movie, Cars, by Disney/Pixar. I really enjoy watching this movie with my two younger brothers so I sort of know the entire movie by heart. The story starts off with a race-car, Lightning McQueen, he’s the rookie race-car. The movie starts off with the Piston Cup race, only it ends in a three-way tie, which … Continue reading

A Quartet of Daily Creates (:

    by
Week FOUR of Daily Creates!! Traffic, on traffic, on traffic… *Daily Create Sept 10th* The Daily Create was to express what makes you angry. I commute to school approximately 45 minutes, traffic is a hit or miss situation. I absolutely hate traffic, because I get upset and angry sitting in the car not being able to fix my situation. Anger to me means getting frustrated, traffic = frustration. Traffic is something that definitely makes me angry!   On My Sidewalk Today *Daily Create Sept 12th* The Daily Create assignment was to capture the view from your sidewalk. So, my picture is of my momma walking on our neighbor sidewalk. I absolutely love … Continue reading

    I’m a Huge Fan!!

    by
Wow!! All I can say is I hope one of the assignments I create for ds106 will by half as clever as some of these AMAZING posts on the INSPIRE ds106 site!! The one that STOOD OUT the most to me was this one!! Man oh man! This girl ROCKED this ds106 assignment. I believe she had to renovate a movie poster, and let me tell ya she did one heck of a good job! This poster for The Vow shows Rachel McAdams(one of the co-stars of the film) along with her(ds106blogger) catchy, new renovated caption “If Channing Tatum says that you are married, just go with it.” The new caption fits any girl’s … Continue reading

What’s in a Name, Storytelling is NOT Lame ?

    by
When I hear the word [storytelling] the first thought that comes to mind is bedtime… ~LyndseyLu My Take on [digital]Storytelling Romance, adventure, terror, endless love, knight in shining armor, evil villains, damsel in distress, compassion, fate. Storytelling is a way to express hope, quests for truth, morals, rational thinking and sometimes even irrational thinking. Storytelling enables us to escape from reality. Giving hopes and dreams a second chance. Stories can be told anywhere, anyplace, anytime; by many means such as, verbal, visual, and a combination of both. Placing the word [digital] in front of storytelling allows for a greater experience of that story; enabling it to in some cases come to life. Making a story … Continue reading

    Oorah! Bootcamp Week 2

    by
I have officially survived DS106 Bootcamp Week 2!! Alleluia! Wow, what an experience. This week’s work took more time and effort. I already had a leg up on the first couple tasks i.e. I had already customized my blog, changed up my menus, set up the “cool” version of permalinks and installed my plugins. The next task was to change your theme. I chose not to, because I had already looked at the other themes and decided that my current one is what will work best for me (: I also had a lot of fun organizing my widgets, the tag cloud is OFFICIALLY my favorite concept of this class. I … Continue reading

    ? Don’t touch that, it’s HOT!! ?

    by
Ta-Da!! My goodness what an adventure creating my first GIF! I chose to use a clip from Sweet Home Alabama, this movie is one of my all-time favorites. In this scene young Jake is protecting Melanie from touching a hot spot that was just struck by lightning At first, the thought of creating a GIF was very stressful, I researched and downloaded many different types of software but nothing was giving me a good result. After trying for a couple of hours to figure it out I finally decided to try the directions on this page. I found them to be VERY helpful. Step by step everything worked and my … Continue reading

My Take on Creative Commons ?

    by
Creative Commons is a nonprofit organization that gives permission to the public to share your work, creative ideas, and knowledge on your own terms. Creative Commons is free and apparently really easy to use. CC licenses let you easily change your copyright terms from the default of “all rights reserved” to “some rights reserved.” Upon deciding to be part of creative commons, the work you’ve done becomes readily available to others, allowing them to use the work/research/ideas you’ve already accomplished. For DS106, my personal opinion would be that it doesn’t matter if my work is ‘some-rights-reserved,’ because the assignments are the same for every other person in the class. Also, … Continue reading

    Meeting Joey Stamper!!

    by
I had the pleasure of meeting the newest member of Anthem Lights this past Thursday. My sisters and I had the best time. It was basically a private concert with no more than 50 people. I had the privilege of being able to stand right by the stage. Seeing the band play live was a dream of mine, and I never in a million years expected to have such an intimate experience. https://twitter.com/LYNDS3YJOY/status/244478015013257217

    PING PING! ?

    by
{Week 2, Daily Creates}   On the Coast of Somewhere Beautiful *Daily Create Sept.3rd* (click here for more info) This is a picture I took on the beach in my hometown. I love visiting there. The weather is always perfect and spending time with family is a plus. It’s nice to just sit back and enjoy the waves, the sun, the sand. I really enjoyed this daily create because I love this picture I took of the beach, it’s from a couple of years ago but it is my definition of “openness.” I wanted to share this photo, because it truly defines a piece of me/my life. I am so … Continue reading

OH WOW! My first week BootCamp Experience!

    by
HELLO! Starting off my FIRST Weekly Summary, I am going to post all my links for all my “sites.” Just trying to cover all my bases: http://www.youtube.com/user/LyndseyLu112/videos https://twitter.com/LyndseyLu112 http://soundcloud.com/lyndseylu112 http://www.flickr.com/photos/lyndseylu112/ So, from the beginning it seemed as though this class just wasn’t the thing for me. The trouble started when I registered for two domains not just one. Luckily, Mr. Tim came to my rescue and sorted that out, but then my entire site had to be swept up and restarted because of errors. Finally, I was up and running able to install word-press and to start on my blog. At first I wasn’t really sure what to put on … Continue reading
