    Analyzing works of art

    by
For this part of the weeks assignment we were supposed to find photos that show the different points from  Becoming Better Photographers and analyze them. Selection: I chose this image of a farm in front of the mountains. My dream is to have a functioning horse rescue farm and I love the mountains. The photographer of this ...

    An Inspiring Bad Photo

    by
One of the assignments that caught my eye was strikingly simple.  Pick a bad photo, apply a vintage effect, and write something in helvetica.  It seemed like a brilliant way to highlight how easy it is to make something inspiring.  Just make it look like it was meant to have poor quality!  The photo I chose […]

    Selfie With Your Pet

    by
For this assignment I couldn’t take a self with my dog because she hates to be picked up but I did the next best thing, I held her as she tried to escape my love. I had my friend take several photos but this is the best one.

    112 – Give Him Power

    by
★★★☆☆ I remember seeing this forum game years ago where you’d get some a band name from the title of a Wikipedia article, an album title from the last few words from a random quote on a quotes website, and an album coverfrom the popular images on an image hosting site....

    Drawing Wonder Woman

    by
Despite some of the frustrations with GIMP, I still wanted to experiment some more with it.  I liked the idea of trying to make a drawing from a photo.  The photo I selected was the first Wonder Woman promo photo released on Gal Gadot’s twitter.  Being as her character is fairly ancient, it would be […]

    WANTED: Xena “Warrior Princess”

    by
The image of Jim Groom on a Wanted poster naturally caught my eye as I was searching through visual assignments.  This interest was only magnified by reading the description.  Essentially I could pick a favorite character and try to describe her as a villain.  I immediately jumped to the idea of using Xena.  While clearly […]

    Week 3 Weekly Summary

    by
Another tough week. I’ve been have lots of life events recently, so it’s been hard to keep up with my schoolwork, but I did it! I loved all the photography this week; it’s one of my favorite interests. I got better at commenting and responding to comments on my own blog this week, but I’m […]

    Elements of Good Photography

    by
I tried to find example of every talking point of Becoming Better Photographers, which was a challenge. Here’s what I found (click on each photo to go to the photo credit): Selection Contrast Perspective Depth Balance Moment Lighting Foreground/background

    Upside DOWN or Sideways?

    by
Here is a good example of perspective. As you look at the picture you see a guy and at first it looks like he standing sideways. Different perspectives and angles can falsely assume something for what it actual is.  Different views can make a photo unique by how creative you can get with a photo.

    Photography

    by
I love photography. I actually have been meaning to get more into it for a while now. I have been told I have a good eye for photography, meaning I can set up a shot well and take nice photos. I don’t take a lot of photos currently, but I am looking to do a […]

    Daily Create 9/16/16

    by
Today’s Daily Create had us create an imaginary musical manuscript. I know how to read music so this was pretty simple for me. I used the demo version of a software called Noteflight which let me create a simple two measure song. There is a hidden joke in it, I wonder if anyone can guess what […]

    Tweets for the week!

    by
I’m finally getting better at this thing called Twitter. September 11th will never get easier for us as a country. What I experienced as a child will be merely taught as a history lesson to today’s children.. #tdc1708 @ds106dc forever we remember. ❤️🇺🇸🇺🇸 pic.twitter.com/Hbv2NxFyda — Amber (@amberrlynn0810) September 12, 2016 What would you choose as ...

    Weekly Summary

    by
For this week I started out with my Photo reflections and how I could become a better photographer. I had been putting some thought into this over the summer and reading a little bit more, so wrapping it up in a blog post was enjoyable. I think that the sources that were provided for … Continue reading "Weekly Summary"
