    My character for #western106

    by
When I choose the undertaker as a character for Western106 that was because I wanted some special traits for the character. I wanted to choose an unarmed and not aggressive person, who could participate as it were from the sidelines. And a figure with a number of attributes that could play a role in his…

    I can’t draw a cactus

    by
My last daily create for the week was to draw a cactus with my eyes closed. This was super simple. I got a piece of paper and a sharpie, closed my eyes and then attempted to draw a cactus. I have to say that it turned out better than I thought it would.

    Daily Create Feb. 1, 2016

    by
My daily create for today was to draw a cactus with my eyes closed. So, I did that and then decided to draw one with my eyes open. Drawing one with my eyes closed seemed more challenging. But, unfortunately they didn’t turn out much differently. I am definitely not the best artist!

Lost Women of the West: Stagecoach Mary

    by
My editor at Middleweb, John, saw some of my tweets about #Western106, so he sent me a collection of Western magazines (how cool is that?) and an interesting book by Stephanie Bearce entitled Top Secret Files: The Wild West. It’s a non-fiction book for middle school readers that has some cool information in it and some […]

    Boston Strong

    by
Today’s daily create asked you to create a picture that showed optimism vs. pessimism in the form of a glass half empty/full. Instead of doing a generic glass, I picked my Boston Strong Mug I bought in Boston several months after the marathon bombings in 2013. Growing up in New England I spent a lot of time […]

    Emoji This

    by
*I had a lot of fun with this project, I asked four friends to pick their favorite emoji and imitate the face. Then put into a quote what they think “their” emoji would say. They enjoyed this project as well. I thought it was a great way for you and your friends to be … Continue reading "Emoji This"

    Capture Life

    by
Have you ever heard someone say that in todays day and age we are no longer living in the moment because we are too focused on trying to capture that moment? It’s like people think that taking a quick picture is making the memory of less importance. And I don’t think that is true at … Continue reading Capture Life

    Showcase

    by
This week my writing group was chosen to pick out five posts that we considered to be the best of the week. We all picked out different ones, because we either related to it, liked the idea, thought the person was creative etc. So here are the people in the spotlight: The West in the … Continue reading "Showcase"

The Narrative Arc of a Tall Tale

    by
We’re still hoping to do a Tall Tale radio project for some of us stragglers on the open range of #Western106 but, as Alan Levine noted, since we are A Course with No Course, there’s no time rush on it. Still, I was listening to a Tall Tale the other day, and thinking of the […]
