Gardner Campbell Response

Gardner’s idea about having colleges and universities provide each of their students with web servers freshman year, seems like a great idea. I really think that by providing students with a step by step class that immerses them into technology while they are still freshman, would allow more people to become involved with technology.

Because many high schools are not providing the necessary means for students to get the most from their computer, students are not being exposed to new things. This class would develop their technology skills, so that each year, students would develop their space more and more. Professors, librarians, and instructors could make sure the students are making the most from these web servers by assigning work through them. Eventually these students graduate, and become able to pass on this information to others either through teaching them directly, or through the workplace. It prepares them for a world that is rapidly changing technologically.
