Radio Lab Show

I listened to a Radio Lab episode called “A 4-Track Mind.” Not only did I find this episode very interesting, but I really liked the layout. They kept flipping back and forth between the talk show aspect and interviews they had done. As they went through the story they were able to explain the context of the interviews so the lines made sense. They put the clips together and weren’t afraid to overlap the pieces. This made the radio show appear very smooth and fluid, not choppy. They incorporated music for the context of what was going on in the interview. They continued to play the music while they talked, turning it down so that it did not distract from the sound. They also used the sound effects to show what the people being interviewed were feeling. They had multiple people talking about the interviews. One was more of the expert who was telling all the background information. The other was asking questions and being more hypocritical. This combination made it easy to see an actual conversation going on. It was a fantastic broadcast and a very fascinating story!
