Little Miss Sunshine

One of my favorites movies that I could watch again and again is Little Miss Sunshine. Here is the movie poster and the trailer for the movie.

I love this movie because the characters are ordinary characters but they all come together and make a crazy a family. I love Abigail Breslin as Olive in the movie because she is so funny when she gets excited when she finds out she gets to be in the pageant.

One of my favorite scenes of the movie is when Olive does her dance routine for the pageant she is in. Her dance was choreographed by her drug addict grandfather. In this scene, he is practicing her growl for her dance.

This scene is funny and intense at the same time because in the background you hear the car’s horn continually honking on the highway while at the same time, Olive helps discover that her brother, Dwayne, is color blind. When he finds out the his color blindness affects him from getting into the air force, he dramatically gets out of the car on the side of the road and screams as loud as he can.

I would classify this movie as an independent comedy/drama since there are so many funny scenes, but also a lot of serious tones in the movie that make it a drama. As far as the elements or camera work in this movie, I would say that they are very basic and not much camera movement. Most of the scenes the camera doesn’t move at all, and just switches between different angles of the scene.
