This tutorial is for the 5 movies, 5 seconds video assignment. I chose five movies and decided that I would do the famous lines from each of the five movies, and put in some special affects using iMovie. This tutorial will show you how to complete this assignment using iMovie.

STEP 1

The first step is to open up iMovie and import the movies that you will be showing clips of. In order to do this you will have to click file, import, then choose the input method that corresponds to where your movie is. It’s a lot easier if you first create a new event, then import your clips so only the clips that you will be using will be shown.

 STEP 2

After you have imported all your clips, all the imported clips should appear as a event. Your next step is to delete all the scenes that you will not be using. In order to do this click and drag what clips you want to be deleted, this will highlight what you’ve selected.  Next, all you need to do is press delete.

STEP 3

After deleting the clips that you will not be using, above is a example of how it would look for this five seconds, five movies assignment.

STEP 4

The next step is is to spruce your video up a little bit by adding titles at the beginning and end. iMovie makes this extremely easy, just click window, titles. You will see a variety of titles appear on the bottom right of iMovie, all you have to do is click the one you like, and drag it to where you will like it to be seen in your movie. Then simply just double click and change the text to your corresponding text that you would like to be shown.

 STEP 5

The next step to sprucing up your movie is to create transitions from one scene to the next. In order to do this go window, transition. Like the titles, just click and drag it to the position that you would like it to appear. Transitions help give the video a little something extra and let you fill blank spaces up.

STEP 6

The final step of making the video look better is flash and holding the last frame of your video. This makes the video come to an end in a flashier style. Simply go to clip, special effect, and flash and hold last frame. Drag it and put it on the last frame.

 STEP 7

The final part of the process is sharing the video to youtube, you can do this by clicking share, youtube and putting in your account password, decryption and a title.
