I created two new assignments today, making this three submitted assignments.

The first one is an audio assignment, called Familiar Sounds. I was in my my room thinking of an assignment and because it’s so hot, I have the window open in my room, so I noticed all of the traffic noise coming off College Ave. I had a thought about all of the noises we consider normal, but when we enter other peoples “normal” they are often very different. We may know that the third stair always makes a creaking noise, but for others that is not normal. So, here sparked this assignment. All you have to do is record some of the “normal” noises you hear.

My next proposed assignment was a video assignment. I remembered talking in class about why we watch YouTube and what makes YouTube videos become famous, so I thought it would be fun if ds106 students attempted to use some of the techniques to see if they could get famous on YouTube. Try It here.
