“Before they read words, children are reading pictures.” – David Wiesner

People tend to use words to tell a story, but pictures work just as well.  Who knew a bunch of random photos could create an adventure.  All you have to do is find the right ones and use your imagination.  Though is may not be the best story or the most realistic, I did have fun picking pictures and creating my own narrative to go along with them.  This is my story, HAPPY BIRTHDAY UNITED STATES.  (I think a new car is on the wish list…you’ll see)

Happy Birthday United States!

It’s the fourth of July and I’m on my way to my best friends house to shoot off fireworks. I was a little nervous because I’ve never lit off a firework before, but I figured what’s the worst that could happen?
So I’m driving along and out of no where I have to swerve the car. I lost control and my car flipped. Luckily I was okay, but my car was not. As I climbed out the passenger window a screamed! Not only was my car wrecked but it flipped on top of a dinosaur. This was awful. All I could think about was the fact that I may have killed not only an endangered species, but one I thought was extinct. THIS WAS PROBABLY THE LAST DINOSAUR EVER AND I FLIPPED MY CAR ON IT, all because I didn’t want to run over that darn chipmunk in the road. (Who was perfectly fine by the way, like nothing happened).
Oh the things I thought about doing to the chipmunk. I’d rather cut its head off than have my car wrecked and go to jail for killing the last dinosaur on earth.
While having a panic attack in the middle of the road I look over and the dinosaur is no longer under my car, it’s walking down the road like nothing happened, with the chipmunk! So it was just me and my ruined car. And I thought the worst that could happen was burning myself on a firework…
