Appreciating Past DS106 Stories

So for this assignment we were asked to pay homage to previous Ds106ers. The first part of this assignment was to choose a story from last semesters student’s “Best Work”. The one I chose was a silent film version of Finding Nemo. Now I must say a large reason I probably chose this was because I am such a big Pixar fan, but I also chose it because to be honest I couldn’t stop laughing. Though the trailer doesn’t tell much of the arch that Vonnegut created when you watch the whole movie there is no denying it follows that exact pattern of average, to low to better. This was a really talented piece and I think the author put a lot of effort in to it, or at least it appears so. I really hope that by the end of this course I will be able to have this level of ability because this was hysterical!

For the second part of this assignment we had to chose a piece from the “In[spire]” site, which from what I can gather is a site where all of my fellow ds106ers and I can come together and share our best pieces from not just last semester but all semesters. For this I LOVED the kinetic typography used by Rob Nyland. Since I have just recently discovered what the phrase “kinetic typography” means I just couldn’t resist using this one as my favorite. Not to mention he used one of my favorite songs to narrate this heart warming story
