Mirror, Mirror, On the Wall

I hadn’t expected to practice David duChemin’s Ten Ways to Improve Your Craft when I went to get my haircut, but there I was, sitting in the waiting area, looking around until I see this mirror.  I used my phone to re-read the ten ways to be a better photographer:

Luckily, I had my camera in my purse, so I took it out and started fiddling with angles of how to reflect the room in the mirror.  I paid particular attention to changing the perspective of the room.  I tried taking the photo straight on, but my image took up the whole frame.  I didn’t want the reception booth or stylists in the photograph, so I changed the angle to look out onto the street.   I ended up with this photo being my favourite:
