I thought his talk was very interesting. One thing he said that really stood out to me was “Media mediates relationships…when media changes, relationships change.” This is so true. The more social networking, the less face to face interactions. Tv and computers and these devises have all changed our world dramatically. They are the center of our worlds. And THEY are how we now communicate. I remember when I was in middle school. AIM was a huge thing. I would come home everyday from school and all I would want to do was log on and chat with my friends. Then came Myspace. Where we could post pictures and communicate more openly. Then Facebook, the biggest social networking site, I think, of all time. And now we have twitter and flickr and instagram and all these other sites. And the thing that gets us, is that if one of our friends have it, then we all have to have it. 

The fact that these sites allow us to connect world wide, not just nationwide, is so remarkable.

Not only are these sites good for just social networking, but he talks about how it can effect and even help our environment, economies, government and communities.
