This week we were suppose to do all the preparatory work for the Video Assignments we need to complete for next week.  The first thing I did was find two assignments I thought were cool, these assignments include “Supercut It” and “Play it Backward, Jack.”

I decided to focus on the show friends, and the character Joey’s common saying “How you doin’?”  I first googled the saying to help me find different episodes with him saying his common saying.

WIth the clips, I will download them onto my computer and edit them using MPEG Streamclip. Once the editing is done I will upload them onto iMovie and put them together to create a montage.
This assignment has not yet been completed by anyone, but there are montages of this saying by Joey on youtube, they place the varying clips together well and really are able to convey how this is Joey’s famous saying on friends.

The second Video Assignment I chose to do for next week is called Play it Backward, Jack. For this assignment I decided to do a video of something kind of random. My idea for this assignment is to put a marshmallow in the microwave and microwave it making it enlarge and blow up. I thought it would look cool to reverse a video of a marshmallow blowing up. To create the video I will need a camera, marshmallow, microwave, and either imovie or MPEG Streamclip to reverse the clip.
2 previously done examples of this assignment include “Reversing the Rain” and “Reversed: Sliding on socks” I found both to be cool.

I liked the one with the reversing the rain because it was cool to see the rain just vanish in a sense. It took something so basic and occurs regularly and made me think of it in a more abstract way when it moved in the opposite direction.

I laughed when I first saw this video because I slide on my socks all the time so I thought it was pretty clever for him to make a reverse video.
