FINALLY Boot Camp has come to an end. Thank goodness because this week was even more difficult than the last. I have been both successful on my own and in need of help. I am slowly warming up to twitter and even made my first nonds106 related tweet:
Finally Friday, but it’s going to be a long day

I still need to work on the layout of the blog, but clearly if you got here I have had some success. I am loving this so far!
So come check out my blog! You can get to it by clicking here and then on Owl be Reading. You can also get to my site through my “Welcome Site” and then clickign DS106, which I am currently customizing to reflect me and my sites. (This site will mainly be pictures and will take you to my blog which will have much more detail and literature to read as well as take you to other places on the web.) All I had to do was download another wordpress and choose a theme. WELCOME!
Now that you are here you can see that I have customized my site around two of my loves: Owls and Books. Looking around the site you can see a header that incorporates both themes. The drop down menu will help you navigate through my page in an orderly fashion. I have done my best to allow for twitter availability and flickr pictures. I also have hopefully minimized spam. That being said, I am new to this and there is still more I want to figure out, so stick with me. I would love to add widgets/plugins to books, goodreads, and pictures. Explore and enjoy!
One of the things I love doing are Daily Creates. I get to use my imagination to create words and images specific to me as well as view others. Featured this week are:
My breakfast beverage of choice ~
My philosophical thoughts on the sky ~
The Sky
A large magical surrounding full of light and dark, life and art.
My silhouette ~
I went into detail about my creations which you can read by clicking on the Daily Creates link in the menu.
Oh, check this out! It’s called a GIF. I had a heck of a time figuring out how to make it. First of all I had to find out what a GIF was. Then I downloaded tons of stuff, like GIMP and MPEGstream and watched a lot of videos on youtube. Did you know you could download clips from youtube onto your compter and keep them?! Then use all this crazy compter stuff and manipulate it into ANYTHING! Slowly but surely (with some help) I DID IT!!!!!! Ok, so I know this isn’t an owl or a book, but Disney’s Tangled is amazing and this is a shocking scene. I keep watching this over and over again. I love it and I think I’m going to make GIFs whenever I am bored….(Sorry must have gotten bored)
I was successful at creating an email: [email protected] which I am able to forward to the email I actually check: [email protected]. As you can see I am very creative when coming up with email account names. Email me comments anytime!
