This week, we were instructed to look at some of the best work from previous ds106ers, both from last semester and in[SPIRE]. I struggled to see the ‘story’ in some of the works I was given to look at, but eventually settled on the Good Eggs Gone Rotten by Captain Markish and Bagman Says a Tongue Twister by Brian Short.

Good Eggs Gone Rotten tells the story of a pair of murderous eggs in five pictures. I found it to be hilarious and creative. It is a digital story since it is told through photos hosted on flickr. There is a definite shape and arc to the story, something that may be surprising due to how short it is. I believe that it could be part of a larger story arc, perhaps Captain Markish could have continued the story with more adventures of the trouble making eggs?

I have heard talk of Bagman throughout the semester on the ds106 show and was excited to see that one of his videos was in the in[SPIRE] archive. Bagman is a character created by Brian Short during the Winter 2011 semester of ds106. He has showed up in many videos and in this video he can be seen attempting to recite a tongue twister, “Luke Luck Likes Lakes” for a Daily Create. I love Bagman since the character itself is so simple but unique.  This Bagman story is part of a larger arc featuring other adventures of Bagman. It is digital storytelling since the character most likely would not have existed without ds106 and exists only really for purposes of the class.
