    Hello…

    by
I saw this assignment and thought it was something fun and different to try. I am not a very creative person, so I wanted to pick a song that already had a lot of emotion whether it was sad or happy. I immediately thought about any of Adele’s song as an option just because they are popular and have a lot of drama to them. I thought of “Hello” and decided it would be interesting to hear it as a more upbeat song, so I gave it a shot. I googled the lyrics to the song and then recorded it through quicktime on my mac. I started by reading it very upbeat, and I think I slowly started to make it more sad and it was kind of a wave of upbeat and sadness. It was harder than I thought to stay upbeat/have the opposite feelings than in the song because I am so used to hearing the song a certain way. I am so used to hearing “Hello”  in a sad way that my mind automatically went to that place. I also learned that even without the music and the beat, it was still easier to say the lyrics in that arrangement. Overall, I thought it was a cool project to change perceptions of a song and see how hard it was to retrain my brain to saying the song in a different way.   Goodbye, Emily
