    Splash the Color

    by
For this assignment our instructions were to remove all the color from a photo and then restore the color to one object. I decided to use a photo of me in front of a vibrant yellow door because I thought the pop of color from the door would make the contrast more visible. I used photo shop to first lay down a full color image of the photo. I then went in a laid a black and white image perfectly on top of it. I was then able to cut out the door part of the black and white image […]

    Hybird Animal

    by
For this assignment we were instructed to combine two different animals to make some sort of hybrid animal. I decided to go with a cat and a dog. I felt like each of these animals had qualities I liked so why not combine them and make the perfect pet! The name of this animal would be “Cog” (a combo of “dog” and “cat”). They would be super high energy and love being outside. They love being played with but also can cuddle up with you and sleep. They are independent when they need to be but also rely on you. […]

    Popstar Out of Place

    by
For this assignment we had to take a picture of a pop star and put them into a location where you wouldn’t usually find them. I decided to stick with our 80s theme and use Freddy Mercury from Queen as my pop star. I then decided to put him at the bottom of the ocean. I had a lot of fun with this assignment because I felt like I had a lot of creative freedom. Plus, I got to use photoshop, which I love. I’m sure the fishes enjoyed the underwater performance! PS: This was a 3.5 star assignment..5 stars […]

    Everyday Value

    by
As I scrolled through my camera roll for this visual assignment (2 stars), I found this picture from my landing flight into Akita, Japan after my 3-day weekend trip to Tokyo in late November. It’s a pretty bad picture, but I thought it caught Akita’s rural beauty just right. I did the best I could […]

    The Forest Gump Photo

    by
I love using photoshop, and especially when it involves photoshopping myself into photos so I was excited for this assignment. When I was looking for a picuture to photoshop myslef I found two I really liked so I decided to use both. The first one was a picture of President Kennedy with his wife. I chose this one because it was an older photo and I wanted to challenge myself to be able to edit my picture to match the old photo. To achieve this I put a black and white filter on the photo and then increased the “grain” […]

    Photography Reflection

    by
I love everything about photos, I have for as long as I can remember. When I was younger my uncle gave me one of his old Nikon D50 cameras, and I loved it. I would use it everyday, taking pictures of everything from the trees, to my dog, to my friends. I didn’t really understand how photography worked back then, it was more of a hold the camera up and click the button type thing. As I grew up, I stopped using my uncles old camera but I never stopped taking pictures. I am constantly running out of storage on […]

I decided to look at the 1980s Music and Pop Culture Photography for my examples. Below is a list of points that could impact the storytelling aspect of this picture. Contrast – Black & white photo with the main subject being the man singing at the concert. Even though the photo is in black and …
