    Normal To Extrordinary

    by
This assignment I chose was to make a picture something Normal To Extraordinary. The first picture is the original picture that was taken of my father and I. The second picture I turned myself into a version of The Joker from the movie The Dark Knight. I did this using Photoshop and Microsoft Office Picture Manager. Here are the steps I took: First, I opened the photo with Adobe Photoshop. Then I went Image, adjustments, Hue and Saturation and changed the saturation to black and white. I then went to brightness and contrast and make it a bit more brighter for the white skin. Second, I selected the history brush. With the history brush, I changed everything back to color except for the face. I then used the history brush on the eyes and teeth. I then changed the brush size to one and applied the history brush to different parts of the face where there would be cracks in the makeup including the forehead, around the eyes, nose, moth, and facial hair. I saved changes, quit out of Photoshop and then reopened it again. Next for the black makeup around the eyes, I used the brush tool that looks like a horizontal oval. I selected the color black and colored around the eyes with about 2-3 layers. I then changed the brush size to 1 and used the brush to make it look like he makeup is running down the face. For the black parts smudging on the eyebrows, I selected....

Summarize a movie with Animated GIFs

    by
I Picked the movie, Batman: Under The Red Hood, to animate with GIF’s.     The scenes go from left to right. GIF 1 The film starts out  as Robin alias, Jason Todd gets beat up by the Joker in a remote house some where out of the United States. Robin soon realizes he cannot escape in time to escape his imminent death in his current bound and beat situation. Batman arrives too late to save his partner. GIF 2 Fast forward to present day, Batman and Nightwing (former Robin, Dick Grayson) are in pursuit of a new villain in town, a drug lord who goes by the name of the Red Hood. He puts up a difficult chase and eventually escapes by pulling off some slick maneuvers. GIF 3 After encountering another fight with the Red Hood, Batman brings a knife stained with the Red Hood’s blood black to Bat-cave to run DNA tests on it. He has a suspicion that the Red Hood could quite possibly be Jason Todd. Batman and his butler Alfred are shocked to learn that his hunch was true after all. Batman soon after exhumes Jason’s body from the grave learning that it was indeed a fake.  Batman blames himself for never checking the corpse of Jason Todd after his death. GIF 4 Batman travels to find the only person that he knows that could possibly bring a dead person back to life, Ra’s al Ghul. They both recall in a flash back the exact events that led to the....

    Web 2.0

    by
It was really interesting to read Tim O’Reilly’s “What is Web 2.0″ . It explained how the web and Internet has been used and changed drastically since 2001. A lot of it has changed due to the change of services and applications we use to express ourselves and learn everyday on the web. Most people assumed that the phrase Web 2.0 was just a buzzword people threw around. However, it’s the advancing of web services and other programs and servers that better suit us and allow us to be more expressive with less hassle. An example of this change was when Netscape became less popular and now people use Google as their main search engine. On the other hand, Google offers more than just searching, they offer services as well but these services are not forced onto the user. Google is just a network between people and their destination. A bridge that brings the people to what they are looking for. It took a lot of management and upkeep but little patching and software updating.  Many other services began doing what Google has done. But what Google has ultimately done was organize information that was easy to find. And much of Web 2.0 did just that, made services more user friendly by collecting and managing intelligence. Many sites that are part of Web 2.0 are sites like Ebay,  Amazon and Yahoo!. These sites do all of the collecting and managing intelligence that we use to our liking.  Ultimately it got rid of the complex updating and patching....

    Cyber Infrastructure

    by
I don’t know where to begin, so I will begin by elaborating on what I picked up from the video. I was blown away to learn what Gardner Campbell had to say in regards to the disadvantages of Digital Facelifts and the advantages of personal development of cyber infrastructure. I realized how Digital Facelifts were bad for the online community because it would only replicate processes that were created a long time ago such as newspapers and reapplying the same process and format to the online web, with limited to no creativity or progress in development during the transfer. However, what Gardner Campbell is suggesting is that teachers and education alike propose a new way of educating and introducing younger generations into the online world; as creators. Just the same as children are introduced to the real world, children observe and interact with the things around them in hopes to someday create and partake in the same processes and roles that adults use to cultivate our world into what it is today. But now, younger generations will be able to participate and cultivate their talents and what they are good at as well as being in full control by participating in cyber infrastructure. This is just as Gardner Campbell said occurred during the release of a game called Little Big Planet. The game allows you to play and the be the creator of your own levels. The game gives you mostly all the components that the developers used to create each level and allows you to upload them to the server and....
