    Rodeo Radio Commercial

    by
This post was not too difficult.  I was able to also embed the song pretty well into this post.  It was the song “Traveller” by Chris Stapleton.  I also had my script all written out. Where I struggled was the editing of the sound its self. I was having trouble making it flow when trying […]

    Week 7 in review

    by
So last week was a tough week. Breaking my leg on Wednesday kind of overwhelmed all other school work I was doing and Week 6 ended up getting literally nothing except a single daily create on tuesday, but I’m back now, and with all of week 7 nicely completed! I’ve gotten more comfortable with Audacity … Continue reading Week 7 in review

    Rodeo Radio Bumper

    by
This is my radio bumper for the rodeo radio show that we have for our group radio project. In this assignment I embedded the song “It Feels Good” by Drake White in the background to give it a fun effect.  It also is a pretty good depiction of the radio show. The bumper was not […]

    by
This week was the first week, my radio show group and I started working together to create our radio show. We started off the week by all meeting through Google documents on Tuesday. We discussed for about half an hour, and created a plan for the radio show. We decided on all telling different perspectives […]

Poor singing of The Rolling Stones Sympathy For The Devil

    by
So most of this song is pretty understandable, but there were three parts that got me for a long time while listening to this, “made damn sure that Pilate washed his hands, sealed his fate” I always heard “Pilate” as “pilot”, “When the blitzkrieg raged and the bodies stank” I always heard as “and … Continue reading Poor singing of The Rolling Stones Sympathy For The Devil

You’re invited to the Gals of the West radio show, which will be up by Friday, March 11th. Find out who killed Johnny as all gals tell their stories of how they met and knew Johnny. Mark your calendars, and prepare to be entertained, in this suspenseful tale. Before I go into detail how I […]

    Week 7 Summary

    by
I’ll admit it, I really dropped the ball this week. It’s stressful finding a balance between this class and my other courses. I will work on that. Now that midterm week is over it should be easy getting back into the swing of digital story telling. We created a google doc for our radio show … Continue reading "Week 7 Summary"

    Week 7

    by
This week had its ups and downs. I really enjoyed starting our radio show! Personally the audio section is my least favorite so far. I hate the way I sound on a recorder so this week has not helped. But, I did learn how to do a lot more with sound cloud than I originally […]

    Radio show contents

    by
Okay here is all the stuff I have completed for our radio show ! First we have my bumper : https://soundcloud.com/emily-toney-538536355/audio-recording-on-thursday I really didn’t understand the concept of a bumper until I really listened to the radio one morning. I was super nervous about the bumper because it was the first audio recording I created […]

    Radioshow prep

    by
So we’re going to have to make a radioshow soon, and I think I’ve got a pretty good start on it. I’m pretty happy with the first commercial I made, and hopefully I can expand on my Mortician’s story to make it something worthy of the radioshow timeblock. I also made a poster for the … Continue reading Radioshow prep

    Buy saddles today! Radio commercial

    by
Used Audacity alongside a script to make a radio commercial themed for the old west for saddles. I took Aerosmith’s “Back In The Saddle” and using Audacity looped the intro until the very end of the commercial at which point I added the fitting vocals from the song.

    Weekly Summary 7

    by
The week before spring break is always busy and this week was busier than usual. Between work, school, and my internship I completed daily creates, radio show promos, and 10 stars worth of assignments. Let’s review this week: I completed assignments all of which used audacity. Using audacity’s many features such as pitch change and […]

    Radio Show Design Project

    by
I created a bumper sticker for our radio show. Our show is based off of the phrase “you might be a cowboy if…” which is a spin off of Jeff Foxworthy’s “you might be a redneck if..” I figured since our ds106 section is called tales of ds106, I would use that. I came up […]

    Radio Show Process

    by
Our radio show is a spin off of Jeff Foxoworthy’s stand up ‘you might be a redneck if..’ however ours is you might be a cowboy if. So far we’ve split up work into bumpers, promos, and commercials. We’re each contributing equally to this project. Each person has different promos. In the next coming weeks […]

    And We’re Off!

    by
Weekly Summary 7 This week was another audio week, which did not make me happy whatsoever. I would say that the audio assignments are by far my least favorite. However, there was design assignment thrown in there this week so that spiced things up a little. We started off the week by working on the Radio […]

    Radio Show Progress

    by
Our Radio show is all about being a cowboy and what Cowboys do. So it is appropriately titled “you might be a cowboy if”….. We have set up a google doc page where we can all see each other’s work and progress. This week we have all completed our bumpers, commercials, and logos. Next week […]

    Spam me

    by
I took back spam this week. http://assignments.ds106.us/assignments/taking-back-spam/ My work email is being bombarded by promotions and whatnot we’re doing. They’re things of which I don’t have to be aware. Here’s an example: I used audacity to record myself reading one of the emails I constantly receive. I added on some elevator music to liven up the […]

    Hobo Talk

    by
I completed the assignment ‘hobo speech.’ http://assignments.ds106.us/assignments/hobo-speech/ Back in the 1800’s my character ran into a hobo who was intoxicated. This is an excerpt from that hobo’s ramblings. I used audacity to record the monologue. It was more difficult than anticipated as thinking of random gibberish a crazy person would say is hard. So I […]

    Saloon Dialogue

    by
I completed the ‘have a phone conversation with yourself’ assignment. I chose this assignment so my character could be shown in my work this week. The premise is that he goes into a bar and orders a drink. I wrote a short little interaction between the bartender and my character. Using audacity I recorded and […]
