A weekend at the coast: Monterey, Carmel, and Big Sur

    by
As a kid, I remember driving to places like Monterey, Morro Bay, and Pismo Beach with my parents and grandparents. Now that I’m an adult, I enjoy taking trips up to these places, as well as Carmel and Big Sur, because it allows me a chance to get away from the hustle and bustle of […]

How-To holiday DYI Ornaments: Eight Ornament Designs

    by
This holiday season I decided to craft my own Christmas ornaments. I’ve always felt the best gifts are those that come from the heart. Meaning, Christmas is not about the quantity of the gift, but rather the quality of it. Does the gift mean anything to you or them? Did you put thought, time, or […]

    Happy Fall Y’all!

    by
Can you believe it’s already October, aka spooky season? I know I can’t. Summer seemed to disappear in a blink of an eye, but I honestly don’t mind. In fact, fall is my favorite season of all! I know this year looks a little different with a global pandemic and the chaos that’s unfolded with […]

    Week 15

    by
The last week of classes! How fast it went, yet so slow at times as well. This week in class we didn’t really have virtual meetings due to several different circumstances with weather and allergy season. This allowed for me to focus on my Methodology project. For this I created a story map about the […]

    Final Summary: Final Project

    by
I guess this is my last blog post for this class. It’s kinda sad. I’ve really enjoyed this class and all the assignments we’ve done and all that I’ve learned. I definitely had the most fun with this final project though. It incorporated a bunch of the skills I’ve used throughout the semester which was super fun. Here was my process: I started with taping up a sheet in my living room to use as a backdrop for the close-up shots. I then had my boyfriend help me film all the clips using a tripod and iPhone attachment. We had […]

    Week 13

    by
During the week we continued to talk about what our plan was for the Methodology project. Honestly, though I attended the Twitch sessions, I was so busy with my education classes with writing lesson plans, that I did not get much of a chance to continue to look at the project. However, I am pretty […]

    Final Project Ideas Pt. 2

    by
So I have spent the last week thinking about different final project ideas when just now the best idea just popped into my head. I want to either create or recreate an iconic 80s dance video or music video. I would want to recreate the outfits, props, and any videography. This would let me incorporate a bunch of the different topics we’ve covered in class such as video editing, audio, and design. I would really really want to do this idea because I also think it would be something really fun to help get my mind off everything going on […]

    Letting my Grade Slip

    by
I have been doing my best to keep up in school with all the changes happening, but I’ve allowed myself to fall behind in this class due to my grade in others. That isn’t a good solution and I’ve decided to spend as much time as possible changing that and catching up. Here’s to that. […]

    Listening in on You

    by
The only radio show I had the time to tune in for was a late night one after I put my daughter to sleep. It was about Social Media being integrated into events that occurred in the 80s. I found the concept was original and the format they used was pretty neat. As opposed to […]

    Video Essay: Sixteen Candles

    by
To start off week 9, we had to do some research on video editing and what goes into the final picture. I enjoyed watching the videos from “Every Picture Is a Frame” and feel like I learned a lot. After doing some research we were suppose to take a video that relates to our theme in some way and analyze it with the information we learned from our research. I decided to use the ending scene from the movie “Sixteen Candles” because its one of the most iconic movies from the 80s. I was able to download the ending scene […]

    Radio Show Reflection

    by
It was so fun listening to everyone’s radio shows this week! I could tell all the hardwork that went into each show. The one radio show that I am going to be doing my reflection on is “Social Media: an 80s Rewrite”. They decided to take some major events that happened during the 80s and explore what it would have been like if there had been social media, like Twitter, during the time it happened. As someone who is thinking about wanting to do something with social media as a career later in life, I found this topic especially interesting. […]

    Future Project Ideas

    by
There are so many fun things we could do with our 80s theme. The 80s was such a fun time in history with so much going on and happening. I think one of the most prominent things I think of when I think of the 80s is all the stuff. By stuff I mean toys, clothes, etc. I think something fun we could do as a project would be to create a real commercial for a product that was popular in the 80s. Here is a video I found with a whole bunch of different commercials that came out around […]

    I wanna be sedated

    by
This week proved to be rather tough for me. Midterms were a true challenge. With this being my best graded class, I unfortunately had to sacrifice some of the time I would have normally spent on these assignments to study for my two science courses. I’m finding it really hard to study for my biology […]
