Daily Create #2: Daily Create #3: Daily Create #4:   My thoughts on Creative Commons. My Digital Storytelling assignment was to make a gif file from a scene of a movie. It was slightly difficult at first because I was trying to make a gif out a very large movie file. I had to choose a different movie file for this assignment. The way I made my gif was by downloading a clip of the movie from YouTube. I take no credit for the video. Then I uploaded it on to LunaPic, and edited and downloaded from there. I was originially going to edit it more precisely with Windows Movie ...

Not my favorite week so far :P

    by
Wow, what a week. Hopefully, this post will mean I’ve survived Week 2 of Bootcamp in ds106.  I dunno.  Depends on how fast I can get this published and into Canvas.   Here’s the rundown. I had a blast with the daily creates.  I still love them.  I won’t rehash all 6 of mine here, ...

The Last Week of Bootcamp! Thank God!

    by
So today I officially just finished my last week of Bootcamp and I cannot express enough about how happy I am to be done with it! For the most part the first few assignment that we were assigned to do this week were easy. I say that due to the fact that I had already ...

Say it Like the Peanut Butter

    by
I made a gif of the scene when Andrew and Steve, some of the main characters, are using their telekinesis abilities to fly. I recently watched this movie and I thought it was really well made and deserved a gif. I like this scene particularly because i...

    Addicted to tdc

    by
Apparently, I have come to love the Daily Create.  I finished ds106‘s Weekly Summary for last week a little early, and didn’t include Friday’s or Saturday’s assignment, so I’ll include these here, just for my own sake if nothing else.  I like the idea of being able to use Categories and Tags to see all ...

    Daily Create Summary Post

    by
My first Daily Create was to draw a tribute album for a favorite band. I chose a simple album cover by Ratatat and freehanded it on Paint. I added similar colors for the clothes and added the green soundwaves to represent their sweet tones. With the name of the band in a cool font I think the whole tribute album art is rather nice. My second Daily Create was the easiest to do. My friend just had something lit and I asked him to blow the smoke over the light for a cool effect. Finally, for my third Daily Create, the only object I could readily come up with to ...

    Weekly Summary Take #2

    by
This weeks daily creates This week, all three DCs were photos, one was a picture I had recently taken this summer, the other two I took specifically for this assignment. It was slightly interesting doing tdc244 because my little brother went through a phase where he would loudly protest anyone putting something(other than a hat) ...

    Week 2: Summary

    by
Another week done! This week was all about making my blog a little bit more official. Luckily I had started this last week because I had gotten all sorts of hyped about the class. Essentially the idea was to customize my blog to make it reflect me as an individual, or at least in  my eyes, that is what I wanted it to do. Also, I wanted it to reflect the class as well and my goals for the class as well as maintain a professional atmosphere since I have worked on blogs and websites before. Now, I chose the name “Wise Fish Good Porpoise” for my blog with the...

“Friends with Benefits” is a movie about two friends who have a sexual realtionship without being emotionally involved …without a monogomous relationship or any kind of commitment. This scene is my favorite because it embodies the whole movie in just a sec. They just got done “playing ping pong” and they’re HI-Fiving each other like ...

    Creative Commons

    by
When I saw that we had to do research on Creative Commons (CC), my first thought was: “I’ve seen that before!” and I went off to look at several webcomics I follow which are licensed under CC. In the age of the Internet, it is insanely easy to share anything worldwide. This can be good for ...

    Copyright Craziness

    by
According to my research, Creative Commons is a nonprofit organization based in California that promotes the free sharing of any forms of media and art via the Internet without persecution of copyright. The owner of the work can negotiate specific copyright regulations so that others can share the original owner’s work if that owner is given credit. As a result, Creative Commons can amass a large database of free to upload, free to share media and make it available to Internet users. One of the biggest problems of the unlimited cyberspace is copyright issues, and opening up this whole new library certainly allievates it. For the individual artist, illegal downloading ...

    What exactly is Creative Commons?

    by
About Creative Commons Creative Commons (CC) is a nonprofit organization that enables the sharing and use of creativity and knowledge through free legal tools. CC gives you flexibility (for example, you can choose to allow only non-commercial uses) and protects the people who use your work, so they don’t have to worry about copyright infringement, as ...

    Creative Commons: What is it?

    by
So I was introduced to Flickr actually last semester in ProfessoMcCarthy’s Lit. Journal class where you design and run your own online literary journal. In creating our own website essentially, my teammates and I sometimes needed more than just the artwork that we were provided by our contributors to spice up our site. This lead us to the wonderful Creative Commons section of Flickr. Here is what Creative Commons has to say about itself: Creative Commons (CC) is a non-profit organization headquartered in Mountain View, California, United States devoted to expanding the range of creative works available for others to build upon legally and to share. The organization has released several copyright-licenses known as Creative Commons licenses free of charge to...

    First GIF – Puny God!

    by
I’ve been curious about making GIFs for a while now, but have never been motivated to look up how to make them. Well this finally convinced me to do it. I don’t really have a particular favorite movie, but I loved seeing the new Avengers movie twice this summer so I decided to use The ...
