    Radio Show Ideas

    by
MI6 has been under fire recently for their field agents disobeying commands from the intelligence office. A mess has been made in multiple locations such as Miami, Florida, Giza, Egypt and Istanbul, Turkey. Due to the collateral damage in these locations by the MI6 agents, new management has stepped in to keep a better eye on these loose … Continue reading Radio Show Ideas

    “Big Girls Don’t Cry”

    by
I decided to do the assignment http://assignments.ds106.us/assignments/dramatic-reading-remix/. The assignment was rated 4 stars. This satisfies my 12 star requirement of audio assignments since I am over it with 14 1/2 stars. For this assignment, I was instructed to take a song and record myself doing a dramatic reading of it and put the dramatic lyrics […]

    Radio Bumper

    by
The Radio Bumper assignment was to create a radio bumper for the ds106 radio station. This assignment was rated 4 stars which I believe should really be 5 stars. Before I started the assignment I did not know what a Radio Bumper was so I had to search the internet for some example videos. Once […]

    Sound Effects of Agent Zero

    by
One of the required audio assignment was  http://assignments.ds106.us/assignments/sound-effects-story/. For this assignment you had to tell a story using only sounds. Since we had to incorporate our secret agent character, I decided that this assignment was perfect to combine my character with. Once I knew what I was going to do, I used the sounds from […]

    “Radio Tweet Along 2”

    by
February 14 Yesterday was Valentine’s Day and we know that Valentine’s day is all about happiness and love. However the Lime town mysteries is anything but that. It is more dark and creepy. I almost forgot about the radio show until I looked at the time. Thankfully I tuned in time before the radio started. […]

    Broadcasting Ideas

    by
In the spirit of no wrong answers and no super terrible ideas I sat down to try and figure out just what I would be interested in doing with a radio show group. I’d heard from previous friends who took the course that the radio show was a big deal which is both nervous and […]

    Moon Graffiti & Audio Storytelling

    by
To start off with I really like astronaut stuff, especially analyzing actual NASA broadcasts from early missions that still exist. So the start of this broadcast was cool to me the way they incorporated sounds of beeping and static that are all very accurate to the audio that I have previously heard. The idea of […]

    Radio show imagined

    by
I always wondered how human beings can perceive the world without vision; I now realize that we can rely on other senses, such as auditory, to help us imagine beyond our scope of capabilities. It’s really fascinating to “imagine” something just by hearing, because you are essentially creating something that is intangible. In other words, your imagination may be different from everyone else’s …

    Radio Show – Day 1

    by
So today I got on a few minutes late to the radio show so at first I had no idea what was going on. Then, as the story progressed I understood it better. The characters were really great and they used their voices to convey their emotions whether it be scared or concerned. The background ... Read more

    Sound Effects: Dial

    by
Usually when I need someone dialing a phone number its someone doing more than a phone number. So I decided  to record me dialing a number and save it for my story that I will be creating this week.

    Sound effects and their story

    by
After listening to the the story of “Moon Graffiti” on audio only, I now realize the importance of sound effects and their roles. It was as if each different sound effects were a scene itself, and everytime there was a change, I imagined a switch from one scene to another. The clear sounds provided the relevancy of being in a …

Ideas for a radio show… how exciting!

    by
The thought of being part of a radio show where I’d be one of the co-hosts is very exciting. There are many ways to “create” a radio show; I find that an interesting way to amp up the excitement is to incorporate the audience in some way. For example, we can pose a question for the audience to answer before the …

    Cooking Dinner

    by
For this assignment, I tried to get the sounds of the daily routine of someone cooking dinner and setting up the dining room table. This was my first time working with audacity, and I don’t think it was too hard. All the sounds I used were from Free Sound. I uploaded the sounds and played … Continue reading "Cooking Dinner"

    “Radio Show Ideas”

    by
The first and my favorite radio show idea I would suggest would be to tell past or recent mystery stories just like “Lime town” mystery but adding a twist to the show. For example, tell three brief stories of mysteries that nobody could crack but one of the stories have to be real however the […]

    Radio Tweet Along

    by

    “Slow or 800% Slower?”

    by
When life gives you lemons, you try to make a song 800% slower. Make it 800% Slower instructed me to choose a song and try to make that song 800% slower. The assignment was rated 4 stars which I think was pretty accurate.  First I went to YouTube and choose the song ” Touch” by […]

For the second assignment I choose to do ” favorite song” which was rated 3 1/2 stars. This brings my required 12 stars of audio assignments to 6 1/2 stars. This assignment was to pick a song but also taking the lyrics out and record 30 seconds of the revised song. Then people had to […]

DS106 radio tweet along impressions 2/13

    by
Overall I would have to say that I really enjoyed the radio show as it was full of far more drama and suspense than I would have expected. I had a few minor issues with some of the audio but I cannot even put them into words so ultimately I would say that they don’t matter all that much. It is going to sound odd, but the slamming noises were amazing. At no point did they sound like a bunch of awkward people hitting a desk or something of the sort. It all sounded fairly professional. I feel like its

    Radio Show Ideas

    by
I suppose the thing that I would find the most interesting for a radio show would be some sort of interactive telling of a strange fantastical world. From what I have heard, “Welcome to Nightvale” is something along this idea, however I have not listened to it to know. The other thing that would interest me a lot would be the equivalent to intergalactic TMZ. I find how swept up in strangers lives those people get hilariously sad, and an intergalactic setting allows for so much outside of the normal. I also feel that with that sort of setting people
