To post, or not to post

Clearly, you can see which option I went for. So while I am still a little unsure of what to post and where – I suppose it can’t help to put all of this randomised creativity in one place. You never know. That said! Below follows my response on the daily challenge for today: Find […]

Help Me #ds106, You’re My Only Hope

    by

    help-me-obi-wan-kenobi

This coming Tuesday, May 31st, I’ll be working with some English 11 students about turning written memoirs into digital stories. The teacher has given me carte blanche to introduce students to a wide range of media and forms for turning a written work into a 3-5 minute digital narrative. Needless to say, it will likely […]

Welcome to my blog “Patterns of Aliveness”

    by
I believe our globalized world needs innovation through collective leadership, the ability of people to think together and the growth of respect for diversity. This applies to organizational change as much it applies to new forms of cooperation between people and between organizations, locally and globally.

In my work I am dedicated to facilitating the ability of people to collectively design and lead sustainable futures. My experience is that this results in more people owning the future and implementing change wholeheartedly: in the corporate world, public institutions and civil society organizations. Dialogic and collaborative change unfolds its own dynamic and creates fields of resonance. It makes sustainability initiatives more effective. It pushes us to learn faster. It supports us to stay human in the midst of performance demands. And it helps us to remember our story and the larger story we are part of.

However, I am also aware that I need a better understanding of digital story telling in order to fully utilize my voice and my story.

This poem that has accompanied me for a long time:

“There is a story that lives in us and speaks of our place in the world. It is a story that invites us to love what we love and simply be ourselves. The story is not given to us, it flows naturally from within. To hear it we have only to be silent for a moment and turn our face to the wind.”

(Micheal Jones: find out more about him at www.pianoscapes.com)

My blog will explore how collaboration, linked to digital story telling, can create greater patterns of aliveness.

Have you read Kick, what you’re thinking? From the Bee Willson Guardian Review Wed 18. May 2016: “What if JFK had been a woman? The 35th president of the United States had a sister born three years later, christened Kathleen, although everyone called her Kick. It was 1948. Kick was just 28. Unlike Jack and […]

Week 1 is here. Raise your hand if you’re excited to JUMP IN?    This course was first developed last year, and last summer was the first semester we taught it. Accidental Allure

In the past I’ve made a few experiments with randomly layering and combining images: Glen Finlas -evaluate-sequence subtract and Averages (The Prisoner) for example. A couple of weeks ago I started playing with combining images in the browser. There are several ways to go about this, I found a nice script to blend two images … Continue reading "Accidental Allure"
