    Weekly Wrap-up!

    by
Daily Creates: Reading thoughts: My favorite reading from this week was “A Kid’s Guide to Graphic Design by Iconic Designer Chip Kidd.” I learned some interesting facts that I had never thought about before. Design Blitz: I really enjoyed this activity because it got to get up and walk around a little. Below are the …

    Designing a Decision

    by
I chuckled when I noticed the kids book listed on this week’s weekly assignment post. That’s a wonderful book and I think it’s a great book for kids to have because it makes them aware of all the design aspects in the things around them. There are fliers, posters, billboards, store signage, ads, and countless […]

    Week Six Summary

    by
What a fun week! Like I have said in previous posts, I am very interested in design as something I want to do as a career, most specifically website design and graphic design. I had a lot of fun taking stuff I learned and worked on in other classes into this week. My favorite part of the week was definitely the Design Assignments but I’ll talk about those a little later in this post. The first thing I did this week was research design by reading and watching the things posted on the DS106 website. I enjoyed reading the article […]

    Tattoo Design

    by
For this assignment, we had to create a custom tattoo design that described us. I thought this would be a fun assignment to complete because I am actually hoping to go get another tattoo soon! My tattoo is roman numerals for the date February, 19, 2003. That is the date that I was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. This tattoo means a lot to me because living with diabetes is something I have struggled with for almost 18 years. To me, getting this tattoo is me taking control of my diabetes, not letting it take control of me. When I […]

    Design Blitz

    by
For an assignment this week, we had to complete a Design Blitz. That entailed taking pictures of different posters around campus that embody different design elements. I had a lot of fun with this assignment. If I am being honest, I don’t usually take the time to look at the posters around campus so it was very informative as well as cool to analyze them. The first poster I found was from the weekly email I receive from the school. I thought it was a great example of both color and typography. The poster lists the different things that the […]

Join the Women’s Ultimate Frisbee Team!

    by
For this assignment we were tasked to create a poster for an event or club or anything we wanted. I decided to create a poster for the Women’s Ultimate Frisbee Team, Mary Massacre. I joined the team last semester so I thought it would be fun to create a poster for something I was apart of. Here is the poster! I posted it on my twitter to advertise! The girl in the photo is a girl on the team that I found a high quality image of. I am really happy with how it turned out and might give it […]
