    Design Blitz

    by
I went on a walk around downtown today to take photos for this. I’m going to be honest, I had a hard time finding anything that caught my eye. I had a hard time finding anything that I thought, “Wow, this is a good/bad example of that conc...

    Feeling Like A Kidd Again

    by
Right off the bat this article caught my attention because of how it immediately brings up a fascinating point that most people probably donā€™t think about. We often fail to recognize that everything around us is designed and has principles and thought put behind it. This doesnā€™t just mean posters

ā€œCreate some sort of graphic. Design the overall graphic to convey some sort of feeling or theme, but then have text saying something completely contradictory to the theme or feeling. Sort of like one of those old anti-motivational posters, but with more design than a black box with a white frame.ā€ Contradiction Creation This is [ā€¦]

    Keep Moving Forward!

    by
For DesignAssignments 1887, Motivational Poster, the task was to find an image and design a poster for that situation. I went at it backwards because my mantra for many moons has been to Keep the Forward Momentum Going, and that also (hopefully) will fit in with my long story and with our friend Bob and [ā€¦]

If at first you donā€™t succeed

    by
The assignment I am talking about is this one! I noticed that some people said they could not see my tags on my blog posts, and after some time, I could not resolve this issue, so this is how I will let you all know what assignments I have completed. One of the aspects of programming that I find enjoyable is all the different color combinations that terminal profiles have. I know to most people reading this, you will be like, ā€œwhat is he talking about?ā€ Hear me out tho; I see some people program on black and white screensā€¦

    Motivational Words From Bob Rossā€¦

    by
Bob Ross is not only a painter but a type of motivational speaker and inspiration. Throughout his videos, his demeanor and the words he says go much deeper than just the painting. The whole vibe that he has with his videos creates an opportunity to learn some words of wisdom. For this assignment, I used ā€¦ Continue reading Motivational Words From Bob Rossā€¦

    Creating a Charity Adā€¦

    by
This assignment caught my attention because I come from a family who works for a few non-profit organizations and thought that creating a charity ad would be fun. I decided to go with Walk To End Alzheimerā€™s because my Grandpa recently passed from Alzheimerā€™s. I enjoy working with this charity to bring awareness to the ā€¦ Continue reading Creating a Charity Adā€¦

    Thinking About Designā€¦

    by
Design is something that I find interesting. The word design is so broad because it applies to many different things ā€“ like interior design, web design, clothing design, organizational design. Essentially, design is a part of everyday life and influences the world around us. Speaking more directly about design in context to this course, I ā€¦ Continue reading Thinking About Designā€¦

Design Is the Gift of Sense

    by
Thinking about the importance of good design, it is important because it helps us make sense of our world. It creates linkages for us. James Verdesoto distilled movie poster design down by color themes and use of negative space and wow, it became so obvious how Iā€™ve been personally influenced by design.Ā  Actually, itā€™s been [ā€¦]

    Design Decisions Rock!

    by
Man, where to start? That was a lot of information! The video posted by Vanity Fair had so many great ideas. I was amazed when the presenter showed so many posters of similar design, and he provided great details into how the movie posterā€™s messages are conveyed to the viewer. I appreciate the consideration he talks about with complimentary colors. When using contrasting colors, you can use neutral colors to draw the viewerā€™s attention to a specific subject. His example of this was the Star Wars poster. Color plays a massive role in visual imagery. From pg 78 ofĀ The Vignelliā€¦
