    This semester has broken the sound barrier!

    I canā€™t believe weā€™re headed into week seven already. I liked this week, and so far this semester, I have discovered that I like the audio and digital designs more than writing. I did all of my daily creates over the weekend and Monday. Getting those out of the way has helped lighten the course load, so take note, DS106ers! Hands down, my favorite assignment this week was designing an alternate book cover! I am proud of how simple the design is and how the book title comes across loud and clear! A runner-up to that assignment was the DesignBlitz.ā€¦

    This was a pretty interesting article. Immediately, just by looking at the work discussed, it really catches the eye. Even if itā€™s now super detailed, or interesting, which most of his work frankly isnā€™t. Though when your audience is primarily children, I supposed it matters less if your artwork actually means anything, but rather if ā€¦

    My cover grabs more attention!

    For this assignment, I was told to design an alternate book cover. However, I am loosely following it because I felt that the bookā€™s title was pretty hard to interpret as anything other than what it says. Also, my choices of immediate books near me were The Hobbit (someone already did this idea =] ), this one, and many programming books! I wanted to design something attention-grabbing, so I chose yellow as it stands out. Then I considered my next color and felt that purple would best suit because it is an opposite color. I wanted this cover to comeā€¦

    Todayā€™s assignment was fun! I was able to apply the idea of using a limited color palette to a poster design and help advertise for the schoolā€™s Cybersecurity club! PSā€¦ you should join! I made the poster using Canva, which has been helpful this semester! When I downloaded the file, it was in a pdf format, so I learned some additional tips on converting files in Linux. For the few people that may be curious how this is done, I used a program called ImageMagick which has a fun command called convert. I ran into some issues but quickly resolvedā€¦
