The Daily Creates I created this week was a haiku for Hope, picking out select words from a page of a book I’m reading, and describing what my heart is like if it would be used for a heart transplant. I am connecting these Daily Creates to tell a story about a different dimension where people are made out of food and a girl has to travel very far to receive a new heart. The girl reads the haiku about hope that I wrote to encourage her to make the journey to try and receive her new heart. Then the girl begins her journey to receive her new heart. Based on the words I selected from the page of the book The Far Traveler: Voyages of a Viking Women by Nancy Marie Brown, before the journey the young girl feels “beaten down” so the journey gives her a new sense of “independence” as she resettles along a “quiet” “river.” She then receives her new heart: a heart-shaped Reese’s Cup from a generous donor, me.
