    Live-Streamed Conversation

    by
Have you ever watched a movie with a friend remotely? Itā€™s a strange concept that we never really considered before Covid, yet, Iā€™ve found myself doing so recently multiple times. There are plug-ins that connect to Netflix and Disney Plus has a streaming option. Most of these offer only a text or emoji-based chat system. ā€¦

    Radio Bumper

    by
You may not realize it but youā€™ve probably heard thousands of radio bumpers over the years. A radio bumper is usually something specific to the radio that mentions the name (sometimes in a catchy tune) and station number. For example, WGTS 91.9, a family-friendly, Christian radio in D.C. might play something like this: Another example ā€¦

    A Chilling Alternative

    by
On July 20, 1969, Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin made a historical landing on the Moon. This is old news to us now. But what if these astronauts had not successfully landed? ā€œMoon Graffitiā€ by The Truth Podcast explores this chilling possibility. I would recommend listening to it if you have the chance. Breathe in, breathe out

    by

For one of my assignments this week, I chose to make a relaxing white noise sound that you can play on loop. Birds or crickets are my preferred white noise, so thatā€™s what I used. I used BBCā€™s sound effects archive to download my sounds. I chose one long, repetitive sound to be my base. [ā€¦]

    Radio Bumper!

    by

Here is my radio bumper! I downloaded a free sound cloud song (linked below). And use audacity to crop it. Then, I created a new recording and said my introduction for the radio station. Once I had that recording timed/placed where I wanted it I selected the section before the intro and had it fade [ā€¦]

    Hearing the Trees

    by
I participated in the #ds106 ā€œtweet-alongā€ on Wednesday from 8:00 ā€“ 9:00 PM. The #ds106radio was playing From Tree to Shining Tree by Radiolab: A forest can feel like a place of great stillness and quiet. But if you dig a little deeper, thereā€™s a hidden world beneath your feet as busy and complicated as [ā€¦]

    Audio Reflection

    by
Audio storytelling, like said by Abumrad, is something that has been around for thousands of years. In todays time there are a ton of ways audio storytelling is presented. Whether itā€™s a podcast, radio shows, audiobooks, etcā€¦ sound will always the biggest part of stories. Why? ā€œYour job is to [ā€¦]

    Week Five Summary

    by
This week was a doozie! I will admit this week was a lot of work and audio storytelling I can already tell is going to be my hardest form of storytelling to master, but overall this week was a lot of fun! I think my favorite assignment out of this week was the tweet along [ā€¦]

    Radio Show Brainstorm

    by
I think itā€™s an interesting idea to try and make a 30 minute radio talk show. I would be interested to tell a story about anything really, my story is your story. I do think, however, it will be hard for me to stretch out just me and few other people talking on a radio [ā€¦]
