Have a favorite poem? Record yourself reading out loud and set it to a related video (favorite episode clips or movie clips, animate something, the choice is yours!) https://assignments.ds106.us/assignments/make-a-video-poem/ For this assignment, I chose the poem, ā€œI am too aloneā€ by Rainer Rilke which I found through a novel I read. Video Essay

    by
For this assignment we have been assigned give a video essay on a scene from a film. It can be any scene of our choosing. I chose a terrific montage scene that pretty much takes place in one location. The scene is from the movie About Time. It is towards the beginning of the film and we are watching their relationship grow in this scene. The music accompanying it makes it even better. I love it! video essay

Here is my video essay! I used a scene from the Titanic. I used screencast-o-matic.com to make this video, which is free and not too complicated to learn how to use. It was interesting to try to find some of the techniques in this scene.

    Weekly Summary

In this week of ds106, I have found it to be the most challenging so far. Like I thought sound engineering was hard enough but video editing?? Now that is a challenge in itself but it was nevertheless an enjoyable experience. There are not many classes where I walk away feeling like I truly learned ā€¦

    A Beginnerā€™s Attempt at Videomaking

    by
This week we started our unit of videos and video editing. As a person who has hardly no experience with video editing, I decided to start early so it wouldnā€™t be a struggle by the end of the week. We had two required assignments which had us expand on project ideas and create a short video essay. Then we had a choice to either create a large scale video or complete ten stars worth of assignments. I choose to do the latter, creating a lyric video, a short hand-drawn animation, and a video where the sound is muted and a song is played over it. I had a lot of fun doing these assignment and already have some more planned for next week! Please take the time to go through and check out the work Iā€™ve done this week! I look forward to seeing some new comments! This Weekā€™s Daily Creates! Since this week was all about videos, we were only required to complete two Daily Creates. I did more than two, but hereā€™s two of my favorites from this week! This Weekā€™s Comments and Participation! As always, hereā€™s a list of some of the blog posts Iā€™ve commented on this week! Check them out and be sure to comment! Also, donā€™t forget to comment on some of my own! Iā€™ve noticed there hasnā€™t been a lot of activity lately. I try to always respond, too, so please go out and comment! Happy Accidents Bringing It Back! Freshman Memories Every Hour Vlog Project Expansions! James Corden DC Done Early Arrow Dancing Golden Girls Stop Motion Best of Fall 2021 So Far Play It Backward, Jack Overall, this week has been very interesting. Iā€™ve made some short video assignments I never thought Iā€™d be making in my life, and they were all surprising fun! Iā€™ve got some assignments planned out for next week too! Be sure to look out for that!
