How Does a Song Make You Feel? 1.5 Stars

    by
I chose Once in a Lifetime by The Talking Heads for this writing assignment. Iā€™ve always really enjoyed The Talking Heads from a musical standpoint, and this is likely one of my favorite songs by them. This song makes me feel hopeful, yet instills realism at the same time. David Byrne, the frontman, said that ā€¦

Non-human Perspectives: The story of a tree and his family of chatty critters.

    by
To give you all some context on this assignment, I am writing about ā€œa conversation between two non-human living things or through the point of view of one non-human witnessing people go about their daily lives.ā€ The story starts with a small Oak tree in the middle of a great big forest. The years come, time passes, and all the other trees seem to engulf the small tree. Determined, the small tree began to stretch his branches far and wide. Eventually, a squirrel family built a nest in his branches. The tree was very pleased and provided the family withā€¦

    ā€œGotta have oppositesā€

    by
I was tasked with identifying a particular emotion and selecting three songs that I believe capture this feeling for this assignment. The first song captured me from the first time I heard it. I love all types of music but have a special place for the sixties and seventies music. David Gilmour helped shape Pink Floyd into the eclectic sound that created a revolution in music. His solo album ā€œThereā€™s No Way Out Of Hereā€, which was recorded between Dark Side of the Mood and The Wall, features this song of the same name. The next song ā€œWhere Is Myā€¦

Inspiration can come from unexpected results.

    by
Wow, ok, this was definitely a shorter wiki post than what I was expecting. My assignment was to write about a randomly-selected Wikipedia page. The time, 1960. The place, Rome, Italy. Birgit Jensen had prepared for this event for a long time. The Olympics K-2 500 m sprint canoe event. Iā€™m not sure how many of my readers have experienced rowing, but it is the pinnacle of cardiovascular exercise and can take a lot out of a person who is not prepared. Unfortunately for Birgit, she did not fare well in this event and placed 5th. However, I like toā€¦

It seems Argentina has a twist on everything interesting in this world! So this is a dream vacation that would create the Joy we talk about in our theme (back to Bob Ross) because it will last at least six weeks, something I have never indulged in before. Can you imagine being gone from your [ā€¦]

I have entered a world of unknownsā€¦ do my eyes deceive me?! I must need glasses, I think. I soon remember about the contest! Iā€™m inside a game, and they told me before I entered that if I made it through the night, I would move on to the next round. I donā€™t have much time till the sun goes down by the looks of this blocky landā€™s sky. I have entered a world of unknownsā€¦ do my eyes deceive me?! I must need glasses, I think. My Bucket isnā€™t Bottomless Anymore

    by
This assignment asks if we ever made a mental bucket list of things we ever seriously or jokingly wanted to do.Ā  Heck, I live by lists.Ā  Lists for the grocery store, lists for what to do tomorrow, tonight, this month, next month, for you, for me, for the dog.Ā  Waitā€“I donā€™t have a dog! Darn [ā€¦]

    Fear, No. PTS, Yes.

    by
I say ā€œFear, Noā€ because I am not a fearful person. To me, fear has little use except to cripple and stop you in your tracks. When I saw the assignment ā€œFacing Your Fearsā€ then asking me to describe my biggest fear and what it might think of me, then write a terrifying story of [ā€¦]

All baby capybaras derive effervescent flight gifts. However, ill-meaning jackalopes kick sneakily low-riding minotaurs, never offer pardons, quite regretting silly trifles. Usually, vexations with xeruses yodel ā€˜zapā€™. For context, ā€œCreate a story that uses words that begin with the letters of the alphabetĀ consecutively. This One Tries To Describe the Indescribability of Dreamsā€¦in Full Color

    by
I had so many tattoos, more than the single one that I have on my waking body, midnight sketches of things I donā€™t quite remember. Most of this dream is shrouded in murky swirls and vague half-imaginings, one image fading into the next, indistinguishable unless actively focused on and sometimes not even then. And now [ā€¦]
