    Escape!

    by
Last night, I had the opportunity to listen to the first episode of the ESC podcast on DS106 radio. The episode explored how an episode of an old radio drama, Escape, was produced. The episode that was focused on was Three Skeleton Key, and the podcast host focused on the techniques used in order to [ā€¦]

    The Way It Shouldā€™ve Been

    by
IT Remixed: Georgie was watching his paper boat glide down the little stream the rain had created along the lines of the road. He chased after it, yellow rain boots and coat sticking out like a sore thumb. His boat turned suddenly. Georgie gasped, he saw an open sewer tunnel and hoped it wouldnā€™t goā€¦ Continue reading The Way It Shouldā€™ve Been

    ESC Radio

    by
Listening to the radio show tonight was very interesting and enlightening. The way to producers used layered sounds and their voice to entertain the audience was amazing. I thought the use of music added a great eerie or suspenseful aspect to the story. And the movement of the sounds out

    Moon Landing

    by
I am a little embarrassed to admit I had to look up the July 20, 1969 moon landing to convince myself that Moon Graffiti was just a story. Matt Evans and Ed Herbstman used different aspects of sound to create a very realistic dialect between Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin

    Same story, different link

    by
Stories have shape. The diagram Vonnegut drew when explaining his made-up story really made me think about how many different mediums and sizes stories have. Some stories start in the future, some stories change time, place, and even universes. When comparing this to the Szumerā€™s piece and the video on the evolution of hypertext, itā€¦ Continue reading Same story, different link

    Title Change TDC

    by
My first daily create of this week was based off removing words from books. I used this book because it had a funny title. It also could provide a good message in what happens when you just remove on word from something. It can change the whole meaning of that thing.

    Audio Reflection

    by
For the longest time, I had known that there was something unique about audio storytelling, but I could never really figure out how to describe what made it distinct from other mediums. It wasnā€™t until I watched Jad Abumradā€™s videos How Radio Creates Empathy and Digital Shamanism and Old-Fashioned, Newfangled Storytelling Magic that I finally [ā€¦]

    Audio Reflection

    by
After looking at the two videos of Jad Abumrad discussing audio storytelling, I have recognized that audio does create a sense of connection. This goes for the tone, the sound, and the perception people take from listening to this ā€œstoryā€. There are many different sources to use to create audio recordings and tell a story. [ā€¦]
