    DS106 Radio

    by
The drama on the radio followed the format of reading out of the book. It used music to accent the moment. There is also importance in the tone of the actors voices. When I hear it I think of the black and white murder mystery shows from the 50s.

    ds106 Radio (Week Five):

    by
ds106 Radio Reflection This week I was asked to tune into a ds106 radio episode and participate in a live “tweet-along.” I decided to save the best for last and tune into the Thursday stream. And by that I mean I procrastinated until the last possible second, but it actually worked out in my favor. […]

    Trying to Follow DS106 Radio

    by
I listened to DS106 Radio on Thursday September 28th. It was an interesting experience. For that session, they played the audio for a Batman story. The audio itself was very good, clear with good layering and sound movement from the left to the right. The […]

    Tweet-A-Thon

    by
At the beginning of the tweet athon I wasn’t really sure what to expect. But I tuned in a little early to make sure everything worked. Which obviously it did. Then Professor Bond began speaking and I was excited to apply some of the different audio things we were learning about to what we were […]

    Tweeting Along With The Radio

    by
I listened to DS106 radio Wednesday night. I did not know what to expect the first time listening so I was a but nervous. This night of radio ended up being an episode of Jessica Jones. I have never heard of the show before but I assume it is from Netflix because I recognized the Netflix sound at the beginning. It was really hard at times in the episode to understand what was actually going on. There would be music...

    #ds106radio update

    by
Photo via @noiseprofessor For the first time since 2011 #ds106radio went down hard – for 48 hours.   I won’t go into the details of what the ice weasels reported when they entered the station, but they felt it best to reno the studios and broadcast tower by eating most of the station.  Luckily, the […]

    The Moth

    by
Storytelling rests on ‘ands’.  It’s a series of connectives and all of the contentious parts kinda have to exist as subtext – you’re simply narrating something.  The audience is enlisted in the narration and the disagreements exist at a deeper level. There is a kind of intimacy, an old fashioned campfire, front-porch intimacy, that comes […]

    The New, Old Radio Friend

    by
It has been over 2 years since the freeform webradio experiment #ds106radio poked its head up on the internet.  It has been a fast, loose, out of control experiment in audio held together by chewing gum, duct tape, and a whole lotta awesome people. I was never quite crazy about the /AutoDJ element of CentovaCast […]
