    Week 1 – Looking Back

    by
Week 1 served to be a great introduction to things, not only in terms of expectations regarding assignments and effort, but also simply getting to know Professor Whalen and beginning to loosely connect with other students. Even with something as simple as sharing our Wordle scores, I feel instantly more

A bit of philosophy for a spring-touched day

Bob Ross’s dulcet tones seem to be the perfect medium to convey life advice. Between his unbothered brushstrokes and lovingly aggressive brush whacking, Bob rattles off some one liners to, with some interpretation, live by. “When we use this big old two inch brush, it really doesn’t take too long to paint a canvas.” 01:53,

The process of making my own domain and setting it up and navigating how to use and post on their was a bit challenging. I am very familiar with twitter, YouTube and SoundCloud, but I have not ever produced a YouTube video or SoundCloud audio so making those two media pieces was definitely interesting. I

    Self Actualization

I always strive to get something out of any class I take. Sometimes what I learn is how much I hate it, and never want to take anything like it again. That’s probably why it took so long for me to start taking college-level math classes. Nevertheless, this class seems unique. I’ve had fully online

    Introducing Myself

    by
I had a Twitter account for some reason. I don’t remember making it, but I got an email that somebody signed into it from Indonesia, and then I kinda realized it existed again. Guess I can finally use it?
Well, I figured out all of my accounts I suppose

    Pool Table
Here’s a picture of a pool table I took while in a very sober state of mind. Turned out kinda cool I guess

I reused my Youtube account too. I never really put anything on there anyways

“Let’s just have a good time.” This quote to me symbolized how much Bob Ross really loves what he is doing. He enjoys painting and enjoys teaching others his skills and love for painting, which is very inspiring. “On this canvas you have unlimited power. You can do anything here. You can change your world.

    GOALLLLLLSSSSSSS!!!!

    by
Taking this course has already been eye-opening as to what I have been missing out with learning how to publish blog posts and navigate social media. I have always been one to steer away from using social media as I believe it has become toxic in society. However, I have always liked to keep an open mind, and I hope that DS_106 can help change my views with some of these social tools. I understand that I can not change the direction that social media has been going, but I believe that I can contribute towards changes that will help

    Relaxin’ with Ross

    by
Hey everyone, what a week so far! For this week’s assignment, the video I watched was about a painting of an old barn. I enjoyed this episode and thought that the painting turned out well! I was curious to find out what price someone would sell an original Ross painting for today and found one for sale on eBay asking for $88,000! I believe that telling stories help lead to other ideas of future paintings and other mediums for art. As the viewer of Bob Ross, we can take his stories and help carry on his inspirational attitude and loving
