    WEEKLY SUMMARY: Week 5

    by
Sweet Sounds (Are Made Of This) This week was all about audio as we explored how sound effects, music, and words can drive a story. We created a radio bumper, reflected on audio, and tweeted along to a dramatic story. This was a challenging week, as I think most us were new to creating and editing […]

    they pulled the trigger!

    by
This assignment was from a website called Frequency2156 where you are tasked to create a an apocalypse message from the year 2156. Since this class is based around the 80’s I made it a nuclear apocalypse, because everyone in the 80’s were definitely slight worried about nuclear death. The only problem I ran across was … Continue reading "they pulled the trigger!"

    Guess that sound

    by
For this assignment I used Audacity to manipulate the sound of a pen clicking. I created an echo and changed the speed and pitch to make it sound completely different than the original. Crazy what a little bit of editing can do!

    Audio Reflections

    by
It was until watching these class materials I realized the importance of audio in storytelling. The theme of audio related assignments led to a recurring theme in completion that was pretty surprising to me, difficulty starting. With almost every assignment this week, the first step was the most difficult/time consuming part. Maybe this style of work doesn’t match my style of creativity, or maybe it is just a coincidence. Either…

A Week Down, Another to Go

    by
This week proved to be tough. Learning how to use Audacity was tricky at first, but it was rewarding when I was able to do what I wanted to do with my audio. My favorite audio assignment this week was probably Sounds of My Life. It was cool reflecting on what sounds are normally in…

    Telephone Conversation With Me

    by
“So far this semester, he has been absent 9 times. 9 times? 9 TIMES…” For my telephone conversation assignment, I decided to recreate one of my favorite scenes from popular 1980’s movie, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off! I had to watch this scene so many times to recreate it that this scene is stuck playing in …

    Weekly Summary #5

    by
This week with audio storytelling was for sure the hardest week yet for me. I had previously had ZERO experience with creating any audio content on Audacity, or even Soundcloud for that matter. I took a tutorial and asked a lot of my friends who had experience to help me navigate the audio assignments. Although … Continue reading "Weekly Summary #5"
