    Spy Movie Trailer

    by
For this assignment, I was suppose to make a movie trailer. The assignment bank displayed it as a ‘western’ theme, but I thought I would change it to fit the class’ theme. I decided to make a movie trailer based on my character, Margo Humphrey. In the movie Margo is a secret agent in WWII having to avenge the death of her best friend at the hands of the Nazi Germans. One of the other requirements on the assignment was to use a white board to make the trailer. I used the white board on the fridge in my apartment. I propped my computer on top of it so I could follow along with the rough script I wrote to go along with it. I recorded it on my phone and then uploaded it to iMovie, the worst video editing app I have ever used, and used the voice memo app on my phone to record the voice over. I really wanted to add sound effects to make it look more like a movie trailer, but iMovie crashed every time I tried to import a clip.

    Character Story

    by
For this assignment, I had to create a video story of the secret agent character I created earlier this semester, Margo Humphrey. The video begins with a picture of what I imagine Margo to look like. The picture is of American actress Naomi Watts. I then show a picture of Margo’s two cats, Poke and Miso. Then is a picture of a top secret folder since she is a secret agent. Margo also likes to vacation at her parents’ home in the Hamptons so I included a picture of that and a picture of Japan since she also vacations there (hence the name of her two cats). To make the video, I had a lot of difficulty. I got all my images from Google and uploaded them that way to iMovie. I then created my voice over audio clip with the voice memo app on my phone and uploaded that as well to to iMovie. iMovie has been giving me a lot of problems this week and for some reason wouldn’t let me extend the time each picture was on screen to correspond with the voice over. This is why there is a long period of a black screen with me talking. A little frustraiting.

A (Backwards) Hop, Skip and a Jump

    by
The “Play It Backward, Jack” assignment was to “Take a video of something in your life–someone running, the toilet flushing, the sink dripping, someone spitting, whatever–and reverse it!” This assignment seemed pretty simple to me, so I decided to make it a little more interesting. Instead of taking a video and reversing it one time, […]
