    And here ends another week

    by
Personally, this week has been a little tamer than last week, which served as a little breather for me. I started my week off with my first daily create, which asked us to show the first five songs that plays on shuffle, and I can’t deny how extremely exposed I felt to show my k-pop […]

    Week 11 Summary

    by
This was another fun, but easier week. I had a lot going on this week so it was nice to have a class where I could just use my creative side and not worry too much about it. This week was very similar to last week in terms of the content I created. To start off the week I worked on the assignments. We had to complete 10 stars worth of assignments this week. I chose to do two 4 stars and one 2.5 stars assignments. The first assignment I completed was called “A Word…A Picture…A Story.” I think I […]

    Letting my Grade Slip

    by
I have been doing my best to keep up in school with all the changes happening, but I’ve allowed myself to fall behind in this class due to my grade in others. That isn’t a good solution and I’ve decided to spend as much time as possible changing that and catching up. Here’s to that. […]

    Weekly Summery #10

    by
Monday and Tuesday were pretty quiet, I avoided communication with most people, made food from supplies in the house, and remained safe from the virus. On Wednesday I was up until midnight working on homework. On Friday I mowed the lawn, did a paper for my history class, and stayed up until the early morning […]

    Week Ten!

It’s been a week!! I am still not adjusted to this whole online everything situation we found ourselves in! 😂 I’m not sure I’ll ever be fully adjusted. Nonetheless, the show must go on. This week was video week!! I actually had a lot fun and really enjoyed completing the assignments more than I thought […]

I’m still getting used to the whole mess that’s going on because of this virus. Don’t get me wrong I love being home but sometimes it’s hard to concentrate, especially with much younger siblings. I think I am getting the hang of it now though. Other than that, things have been pretty normal for me. Read More

    week ten

    by
In short — this week was a lot of work, but it felt the most rewarding to me and it has been my favorite week so far, and I’m actually really looking forward to this coming week. Let’s start off with sharing my daily creates: #tdc2994 #ds106 grabbed this picture from the website, and decided to use it in an advertisement poster! Did everything using Canva. let me know what you think! pic.twitter.com/5fIxTeDfT4 — Rachel Tafoya (@rachelds106) March 24, 2020 #tdc2990 #ds106 pic.twitter.com/eiUhaMBUBZ — Rachel Tafoya (@rachelds106) March 20, 2020 The first one was my favorite! I thought it was a clever idea and I really like the colors that are used, I think they complement each other well. Now let’s talk about the assignments I created. I’m pretty proud of myself with every video I made, but by far my favorite was the video about the 80s. I feel I captured the essence of the decade well, and although there was much more I could’ve included, it’s already a bit lengthy at 3 minutes. Also when I came up with the idea for how I wanted to end the video I was so excited because I thought it was neat! My second favorite it the movie trailer for a book that I read called The Hunting Party. This was the video that gave […]

    Week 10 – Weekly Summary

    by
This week was fun. I’m excited to be working with the same group again. This week consisted of two video assignments. Videos are my specialty. For both assignments I used iMovie. First, I looked into the video effects of a scene from The Breakfast Club, and 80s movie. I used my voice commentary to break the scene up into four different clips to highlight video storytelling elements. Secondly, I did

    Week 10

    by
Ah, welcome back I hope y’all are doing well. This week I watched videos on how film-making work and read an article about how to read a film. In the article, Robert Ebert talked about the positive and negative positions of a character. It was interesting because I never thought about it like that and […]

    Aaaaaaaand Action!

Week 2 of quarantine and I’m still going strong! I know many other people are struggling with it, but thankfully this DS106 this week has been a great way to keep busy and get our creative juices flowing. Despite how easily my laptop dies editing videos, I do have to say that this week has […]

    Week 10 Summary

    by
This was a pretty easy week in terms of work load for this class, which I was super thankful for considering the work is piling up in my other classes. I did have a lot of fun doing the work for the week though! I started off the week doing some research on the video editing process by watching the videos that were put up on the Weekly Assignments. I really felt like I learned a lot from watching all the videos and really enjoyed creating a video critique of my own. I decided to choose the ending scene from […]

    Week 9 – Weekly Summary

    by
That was quite a week. Collectively my household temporarily lost four jobs. Times are tough but it is oddly calming knowing that there are millions in the same position. This week was the first time I got to be on a radio show! Even though it was just the class radio, it was super exciting. Secretly, I made notes just to prepare. Personally, I would love for our class theme
