    Breakfast Club

I really liked the idea of interviewing people from the 80s. The host’s mother really went in-depth about the music culture and the fashion in the 1980s She said when MTV was created the kids were able to see new artists on tv rather than afternoon shows or in concerts. The artists helped influence kid’s […]

    be quarantined, do crime

    by
a reflection on the ds106 radio shows! I listened on Wednesday, which was 80’s crime and Social Media: an 80’s Rewrite. These were both really really well made, and super interesting topics that were quite conducive to being in a radio show format. The crime one was incredibly well-put together, with real interviews of the […]

    Radio Show Listen

    by
This week was the best by far. I had a great listen on a couple of the radio shows and I think the one that I have the most to say about is Around the World: 80s style. You can give that a listen here: Fashion around the world, in my opinion, was gener...

    Iā€™m Listening

    by
Monday, March 16 and Tuesday, March 17, I was able to listen in on different groups’ radio shows on DS106 radio (sadly, I was preoccupied on Wednesday and couldn’t tune in that night). There were a few comments I made on some of the shows, but one that I want to reflect on is When […]

    Radio Show Reflection

    by
It was so fun listening to everyone’s radio shows this week! I could tell all the hardwork that went into each show. The one radio show that I am going to be doing my reflection on is “Social Media: an 80s Rewrite”. They decided to take some major events that happened during the 80s and explore what it would have been like if there had been social media, like Twitter, during the time it happened. As someone who is thinking about wanting to do something with social media as a career later in life, I found this topic especially interesting. […]

    80ā€™s Crime Review!

    by
I decided to listen to “Whats your damage: 80’s crime ” on Wednesday night. They group had five people; Yulemi, Connor, Rachel, Lauren, & Karsen.  Connor started off the show via Skype. I really liked his response on the topic of whats going on and bring that into this online class. I think it would …

    Reflections

    by
Due to some problems early in the week I was not able to listen to my classmates radio shows. When I listened to our radio show I liked it. We definitely could’ve improved on some things like adding more content to the show. I think our biggest issue was bringing our narrative together for the […]

    Week 9: Radio Show Reflection

    by
I listened to “80s Television Power Half Hour” and I really enjoyed the intro because it sounds like an actual 80’s broadcast to me. I dont know if its my computer or something but at the beginning the intro plays twice, usually people would find this annoying but I actually enjoyed it. They talked about…

    Reflection on radio show!

    by
On Tuesday night, I had some difficulty getting the ds106 radio to load for me on my computer. For some reason my computer would not load the ds106 radio. After tweeting with my professor trying different browsers and links, I finally thought about the idea that I could listen to the radio station on my phone. That worked. I do not know why my computer would not load the radio station because it has before, but I will have to look into that later on.  The podcast I started to hear was about the Golden Girls once I finally listened

    The Competition

    by
This post is for me to take a bit to reflect on one of the radio shows done by another group, a.k.a the competition. I listened to Back to the 80’s Radio Show by the DS106 Ladies. I always like to start with positives when it comes to reflecting and critiquing someone else’s work, so…

    Radio Listen

    by
If you have been following my blog you might know about the radio shows we created in groups. This week these shows were aired on DS106 radio, so I am kind of a big deal now. I listened to 3 radio shows this week, including my own, and I have a few thoughts on the […]

    What amazing podcasts!

    by
I really enjoyed all the podcasts I listened to, and I was really proud of what everyone accomplished! While listening to some of these podcasts my classmates created, I was extremely intrigued with all of them. Also, we finished our midterm- and that’s always something to applaud everyone for. We’re half way done with this …

    Radio Show Tune In

    by
I listened to the 80’s television show and it was awesome! I loved the robotic voice in the intro. I would love to know how they accomplished that! Kollin did a great job with analyzing Full House. I never watched it as a kid, but he is right, there are references everywhere! We even use…

    Radio Show Review

    by
The radio show I am reviewing is the show Tubular Tunes. Starting out, I loved the intro, it had a nice stranger things vibe. The first radio commercial was really funny, especially the part about getting it on VHS. The first segment about all of the elements that make a great 80s song was a […]
